The Quill ear stud is handmade from silver sheet with a fused 24ct gold layer. The sheet is rolled with a feather texture. The metal has a satin finish with the edges burnished to a bright shine.

The earrings can be cleaned with a solution such as silver dip rinsing afterwards in water, or by using warm soapy water with an old toothbrush to clean outside and inside the fold of the earring them dried.
