This part of the piece may be removed from the chain and dipped in 'silver dip' to remove tarnish but should be washed thoroughly in clean water immediately afterwards. Avoid contact with the oxidised chain. This should be cleaned with a soft damp cloth. Avoid rubbing as this may remove the oxide layer.
