Description

Polished, Sterling Silver handmade Multilink Chain Neckpiece. The chain is made from Sterling Silver round wire in varying gauges, and the rings all have different diameters.

Suspended on the links of the chain are a multitude of robust, blown glass Bubbles. The Bubbles are blown from transparent glass, and then given different finishes, or they are blown from opaque white glass.

The transparent glass may be coated in transparent Mother of Pearl, or a Precious Metal Lustre. The lustres are applied to the glass, and fired to leave a layer of colour (Black or Mother of Pearl) or Precious Metal (Platinum) permanently adhered to the glass.

Other Bubbles have been sandblasted to give a frosted, matte surface. Some of these Bubbles are then coated in Lustre (Platinum, or Metallic Black) and have a coloured matte finish.

Other Bubbles have been blown with transparent glass, and filled with faceted round Cubic Zirconia to add sparkle to the piece.

This piece is a one-off, and will not be repeated, though other pieces of jewellery in these colours (earrings, etc.)  will still be available.

Lustres contain precious metals and are permanently adhered to the glass surface through high temperature firings; when the jewellery is looked after correctly it should not come off. Please store each jewellery item separately from other items to avoid sharp surfaces which may scratch the lustre or silver. Store away from chemicals and out of sunlight. Ensure that perfume, hairspray and other chemicals are applied to the body, face and hair BEFORE jewellery is put on to help avoid the jewellery becoming dull and colours looking faded.

The glass and the silver parts of the jewellery can be cleaned with jewellery cloths to remove tarnish, or the pieces can be dipped in cleaning solution, rinsed and dried.
