Neckpiece Tidal series - Burnt orange by caroline finlay

Necklaces / Pendants
by caroline finlay

Oxidised sterling silver and vitreous enamel neckpiece.
Individually handmade using the ancient enamelling technique of basse-taille - the textured silver can be seen through the transparent burnt orange enamel.
Blue enamel side detail.
The enamel has a glossy finish which contrasts well with the oxidised, matt, dark grey silver.
The main pendant measures 3.5 x 3.5cm
The techniques used mean each piece is unique with no two pieces being exactly identical.

Features

  • Primary Material : vitreous enamel
  • Other Materials : silver
  • Length (inches) : 21.5
  • One of a Kind : No
  • Metal : sterling silver
  • Hallmarked : Yes

Cleaning Instructions

Enamel can be washed in warm soapy water if it becomes dirty. A little vaseline can be applied to all pieces to help enhance oxidisation and enamel colour. Vitreous enamel is glass and although pieces are fairly hard wearing, care should be taken not to apply force or scratch the surface.  Oxidisation will come off with silverdip, abrasion or household chemicals e.g bleach. Store pieces in a box with acid free tissue paper - as provided.
