About Frances Levis

I use the traditional technique of hand forging to create jewellery. I take inspiration from the way the metal changes under the different blows of the hammer, which I use to my advantage when designing.
In some jewellery pieces, hammer marks are retained and highly polished in order to create a glittering effect. In others, the silver is forged into an S curve and the surface is satinised and freshwater pearls are added to create a feminine and sophisticated look.
