Celebration Bouquet by Jessica Briggs

This abstract bouquet brooch is inspired by my daisy pieces which were first exhibited at Dazzle in 1995.

It is created by patterning each element through a rolling mill and formed using a doming block and punch, as my original daisies were. Luscious pure gold foil is applied using an ancient Korean technique called keumboo.

This, when allied to my texturing of silver and painterly use of a blackening oxide, became my signature ‘look’, superseding my daisy collection around 1998/9.
