Geometric Brooch by Elizabeth Bone

Hand fabricated. 2012.

Childhood activities of sewing, knitting and crocheting have resulted in a passion for making and working directly with materials. This body of work introduced colour using oxidised silver and coloured silk thread, and it rekindled a childhood love of making with thread.

The silk thread is used to construct the form by ‘sewing’ tubes of silver together to create a lightweight graphic piece.

Geometric brooch was chosen to mark the 40th anniversary of Dazzle because it came from a collection of work which has not previously been exhibited with Dazzle.
