Sepia Vetch Cuff 25mm by Sue Gregor

Sepia Vetch cuffs made with wild plant called Vetch that I found growing on waits ground. I love finding beautiful plants in derelict places. After looking at old sepia photos I decided to use this colour range. I imagine these being worn with a taupe outfit looking really fab! .

I collect dry and press the leaves. Then heat the acrylic and press the leaves into the surface. I then use them like a stencil to apply the colours. The fern  leaf is then peeled off to reveal the design. This is a method of dying and embossing plastic I developed myself. I call it 'fossilised' due to the fine detail which it is possible to capture on the embossed surface so they are similar to fossils.

I choose quite ordinary plants and weeds,to create my designs. I hope that the wearer will not only enjoy them as jewellery but also review their appreciation of the natural world.
