This handmade Perspex bracelet is made using Whitebeam leaves from a tree which has since been cut down as it was leaning over the path. I collect dry and press the leaves. Then heat the acrylic and press the leaves into the surface. I then use them like a stencil to apply the colours. The skeleton leaf is then peeled off to reveal the design. This is a method of dying and embossing plastic I developed myself. I call it 'fossilised ' due to the fine detail which it is possible to capture on the embossed surface so they are similar to fossils. I harness nature to create original pieces of contemporary Jewellery. They are a memory of each individual whitebeam leaf.
