Donna Barry

Repetition, construction, form, abstraction and pattern are all-important aspects of Donna Barry's jewellery. She has developed a technique which involves fusing precious metals, allowing Donna to construct her own sheet out of masses of small sheet elements. The overlapping of the ovals and circles create a repetition of surface pattern. Different textures and imprints can be gained. Neckpieces and bracelets are made up of masses of single fused units, creating light and tactile qualities. Other pieces such as brooches are of more solid forms. However, there are often movable elements within these pieces, which bring them to life when worn!
