The silver has been oxidised dark grey which enhances beautifully the jewel like, green enamel.

Cleaning Instructions
Enamel pieces can be washed in hand hot, soapy water and dried with a soft tissue.
Vitreous enamel is glass and although pieces are fairly hardwearing, care should be taken not to apply force or scratch the surface.
Oxidised silver can wear off through rubbing and general wear, silver cleaning solution and some chemicals.
When not worn keep piece wrapped in acid free tissue paper (provided) to help prevent tarnishing.
