The silver is oxidised a dark grey finish which contrasts beautifully with the rich colour.

Cleaning Instructions
Enamel pieces can be washed in hand hot, soapy water with a soft brush if it becomes discoloured.
Vitreous enamel is glass and although pieces are fairly hardwearing, care should be taken not to apply force or scratch the surface.
Oxidisation can wear off with wear, silver cleaner, abrasion or household chemical e.g. bleach.
When not worn keep piece wrapped in acid free tissue paper (provided) to help prevent tarnishing.
