These handmade contemporary earrings' design was inspired by a textile design from the 1970's. It is based on the fabric of a vintage dress. It has leaves and flowers from four different plants - two types of Hydrangea and Madder leaves and Marigold leaves. They are made using my own method of dying and embossing recycled plastic which I call 'Fossilized Plastic'. This is due to the fine detail that is captured on the embossed surface of the perspex, so the leaves look as though they are fossils. I harness nature to create original pieces, they are a memory of each individual flower or leaf.
