For these contemporary perspex earrings the surface pattern was created using individual conifer leaves. They are collected, dried and pressed then used to emboss the surface. I use my own method of dying and embossing acrylic which I call 'fossilized plastic' due to the fine details, like fossils, that are captured on the embossed surface. The colours are applied around the leaves like stencils, making each component individual.
I harness nature to create original pieces, which are a memory of each individual skeleton leaf. This botanical necklace evokes both a contemporary and a vintage feel. A classic piece that can be worn for years. The earings really catch the light and I have been told attract a lot of attention!
