The main enamelled detail has been textured with punches that show through the rich, transparent enamel. A little vaseline can be applied to all pieces to help enhance oxidisation and enamel colour. Vitreous enamel is glass and although pieces are fairly hardwearing, care should be taken not to apply force or scratch the surface. Oxidisation can wear off with silver dip, abrasion or household chemical e.g. bleach. When not worn keep piece wrapped in acid free tissue paper (provided) to help prevent tarnishing.
