Dazzle Invites | Michelle Fernandez

Michelle Fernandez makes a range of limited edition and one of a kind jewellery in her London based studio. She handcrafts each piece until the right balance of form, colour and finish is reached.

For this year’s Dazzle Invites she has chosen a refined palette of white, black, red and grey to draw attention to the play between form and surface.

She is known for her work in resin and silver; but for this collection her range of materials has expanded to include, polypropylene and eggshell. Using finely crackled, white eggshell she carefully covers flat and gently curved surfaces to create pattern and detail. It’s apparent fragility is placed in direct contrast to the robust forms it creeps across or envelops. The overall effect is of complex surfaces combined with bold, uncompromising, forms.

Dazzle invites 30 contemporary jewellers, showing unique, one-off or limited edition designs, created specially for the exhibition. All pieces are available to purchase from 16 November 2021 – 9 January 2022.
