Dazzle Invites | Rachel Brown
Rachel Brown is a Yorkshire based jeweller who specialises in enamel and graphite drawn jewellery. Her work explores mark making and repetitive patterns using graphite powder and an everyday pencil. This simple yet effective technique results in individual, unique pieces of jewellery which have been described as 'wearable art'. Rachel's recent work looks at different ways to apply graphite powder onto the surface of white enamel. One of the processes is similar to that of paper marbling and the results produce a beautiful painterly abstract surface. The muted palette of greys often include touches of yellow in the form of brass or gold and if the white enamel is overfired on copper blues and greens can appear. Rachel is a member of the British Society of Enamellers.
Rachel Brown is showing an exclusive range of jewellery as part of the virtual Dazzle exhibition – Dazzle Invites.
Dazzle invites 30 contemporary jewellers, showing unique, one-off or limited edition designs, created specially for the exhibition. All pieces are available to purchase from 17 November – 10 January.
