This little owl brooch/pin is made from sterling silver and 24 carat gold. The technique used is an ancient Korean one called Keum boo, where the gold is fused to the silver at a high temperature. The brooch has been oxidised, then some of the surface has been highly polished to create a dramatic contrast between the bright gold and blackened silver. We also make matching owl earrings, which can be seen in one of the photographs above.
Cleaning Instructions
This brooch has been finished with a clear, protective, anti-tarnish coating. When not being worn we recommend storing the brooch in it's gift box or keeping it wrapped, so that it does not get scratched.
