Earrings by Miranda Sharpe A coil of silver wire is soldered and fused to create the stud part of these earrings, the process gives the wire a texture. A small frond swings from a loop and is enamelled with a green vitreous enamel. The green enamel is over-laid with some small spots of blue enamel to give a subtle contrast of colour and pattern within the enamel. The process means each time the enamel will be different and the strength of the blue over the green can vary being quite visable to very subtle. The coil stud has a polished finish with the frond having a satin finish with bright burnished edges. Solutions such as silver dip can be used. It is recommended that the solution be applied sparingly with an old toothbrush or cotton bud to silver areas only, contact with the enamel may affect its surface. Ensure they are rinsed and dried thoroughly afterwards. A standard silver cloth may also be used but please be aware that it will increase the shine on satin areas of silver.
