Vitreous enamel is glass and although pieces are fairly hardwearing, care should be taken not to apply force or scratch the surface. Tarnish on gold plate (vermeil) can be removed with warm water and a little soap and a soft brush if necessary.When not worn keep piece wrapped in acid free tissue paper (provided) to help prevent tarnishing.
